Alternative Methods To Find Your First iOS Designer And Programmer
If you are trying to get started building your first iOS game but can’t seem to find the right people, then it is time to use some “alternative” methods to get the best talent.
Here are some of the “ninja” tactics I have used to recruit good iOS design and programing talent.
1) Don’t just “post” your job on the job sites, recruit!
Think about this for a minute. If you are looking to land the best talent, aren’t the best people usually already working?
Sure they are! They are the best. The cream of the crop. And chances are good that whoever they are coding or designing for is going to keep them busy.
Well go out and get them, don’t just sit back and wait for “the best” to come to you. Sure, that might happen occasionally, but why not go out and start inviting the top designers and programmers to view your listing.
This has worked really well for me on places like oDesk and Elance.

Where To Hire A Designer And Programer For Your iPhone Game
If you are just starting out building your iPhone game, one of the most difficult tasks you will likely undertake is hiring a designer and a programer.
This part alone might send less “driven” people off to another venture. It is very intimidating and you should do your homework before you just jump in and spend a couple thousand dollars with someone you don’t know much about.
There are several large websites that you can post your job on and get quite a few people bidding on them. But there are several that I have had better luck with and I will mention them first.
The first site that I hire most of my designers and programers from is oDesk. Read More…

iOS Programers And Graphic Designers To Avoid
The goal of this website is to reduce your learning curve when it comes to building and marketing your mobile games.
To that end, I am posting iOS Programers and Graphic Designers to be cautious of and those to avoid. This is based on purely on my experience with a programer or the experience of my colleagues.
To submit a programer/ designer name go the bottom of the page and fill out the form.
This does not mean that you will have the same experience, as we all have bad days, but this should give you an additional resource to use as you decide who to hire.
If you have a programer to add to the list, please include the Name, Programer or Designer, and Employment Website and Rating. At this time I will post two ratings, caution/ avoid. Many programers have one name on oDesk and another name on Freelancer or Guru so this is important. Read More…
Details vs Creative Input
When I first got started making iPhone games my original plan was to hire a programer and designer and give them a basic concept and have them run with it.
This would give me the time to develop other projects and keep everything moving in the right direction.
The design team seemed comfortable with this, but the programer did not. As a matter of fact, just about every programer I interviewed wanted “detailed” instructions and a contract and anything outside the contract would be dealt with as a change. Read More…
